Being Blessed

John 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and said unto them, Peace be unto you.

20:20 And when he had so said, he showed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD.

20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father has sent me, even so send I you.

20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive you the Holy Spirit: 20:23 Whosoever sins you remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosoever sins you retain, they are retained.

20:24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 20:25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD.

But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

20:27 Then said he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.

20:29 Jesus said unto him, Thomas, because thou has seen me, thou has believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 20:31 But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through his name.

Jesus said unto him, Thomas, because thou has seen me, thou has believed:

If you are like Thomas and must see Jesus with your eyes in order to believe, then Jesus will let you see him. Jesus will let you die, go to heaven, and see him. But it comes at a cost. You will see the kingdom is also now on earth. And now you are in heaven. Your inheritance was the earth.

Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. By sight you can be with Jesus in the kingdom of God in heaven. By faith you can be with Jesus in the kingdom of God on earth. To be with Jesus in the kingdom of God on earth is by far the best outcome.

How do you not be faithless? How do you get faith? Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Who has ears which can hear? A disciple. If you spend time reading the word of God letting Jesus teach you, you will hear the truth and you will be full of faith. You will have the faith and understanding needed to receive your full blessing and inheritance. God will give you the kingdom of God on earth.

Matthew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

God is spirit. Those who are poor in spirit – those who don’t have much of God inside – their blessing is the kingdom of heaven. They won’t believe unless they can see, so they go to heaven and see Jesus. Theirs is the kingdom of God in heaven.

Jesus is meek. Blessed are the meek – those who have a rich life with Jesus – their blessing is to inherit the kingdom of God on earth.

To mourn is to fast. Blessed are they that mourn – that fast – for they shall be comforted. The comforter is the Holy Spirit. By fasting, by mourning over sin, by crying out to God with all your body, soul and spirit in repentance – you are blessed. God answers your cry and gives you himself. God gives you the Holy Spirit.

Blessed are they which hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. When you are thirsty you must have water. When you are hungry you must have food. They are strong desires which compel you to action. You will stop and leave what you are doing, in order to go seek and get what you need.

You have to want to be righteous. You have to want to cease from all sin. You must hunger and thirst after righteous with the intensity of someone so hunger and thirst they will die if they don’t get water and food. Seek God’s kingdom and his righteousness. When you do, God will bless you. God will fill you completely full with righteousness.

Psalm 103:1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

103:3 Who forgives all thine iniquities;

who heals all thy diseases;

103:4 Who redeems thy life from destruction;

who crowns thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

103:5 Who satisfies thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

103:6 The LORD executes righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

Psalm 116:12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

116:13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

In communion, when we drink the blood of Jesus, we are drinking the cup of salvation. We have redemption by the blood of Jesus, the forgiveness of sins. We are saved. We are made whole, body, soul and spirit. In communion we drink the cup of salvation, the cup of blessing. In communion we celebrate that Jesus’ blood sets us free of sin and death. We are saved, we are redeemed. We are blessed. We are now on the earth, righteous, enjoying our inheritance.

The Kingdom of God

Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God comes not with observation: 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Luke 12:29 And seek not you what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, neither be you of doubtful mind. 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knows that you have need of these things.

12:31 But rather seek you the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

12:33 Sell that you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.

12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Where your treasure is, there will be also your heart. Your heart is inside your body. Give to the poor and your body will be in heaven. You will have received the kingdom of God. You will be showing righteousness.

Psalm 73:12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

James 2:6 Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

Psalm 72:4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.

Job 27:8 For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he has gained, when God takes away his soul? 27:13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty. 27:16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay; 27:17 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver. 27:19 The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he opens his eyes, and he is not. 27:20 Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest steals him away in the night. 27:21 The east wind carries him away, and he departs: and as a storm hurls him out of his place. 27:22 For God shall cast upon him, and not spare:

Luke 12:13 And one of the company said unto Jesus, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

12:14 And Jesus said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.

12:16 And he spoke a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: 12:17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? 12:18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou has much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

12:20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou has provided? 12:21 So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

The ungodly increase in riches. The ungodly walk past their neighbor in need and do not give him what he lacks in material things. The ungodly walk past Jesus.

We can hold onto money, trust money for the needs of our life, and lose our life. We die and leave everything behind. God breaks apart our body, soul and spirit. We get sent to hell.

Satan lies to you when he says money will solve your problems, that money can be trusted to provide what you need, that men who are doctors will heal your diseases and give you more days of life. Open your eyes and see the liar and the lie for what it is. Your end is you die, are in hell suffering in misery, and are truly broke having nothing.

Be practical. Follow the one who is good, who tells you the truth. Follow Jesus. Jesus will care for you, provide for you, direct you with his eye upon you, and deliver you from evil. Jesus will give you a good life and you will live forever. Give away your money and find true security, being at peace with God.

God now reigns

Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Thy God reigns!
