HEALING IS BY GRACE ALONE

Do you want to be well? Do you know someone who needs healed? What does God say about the topic? Those are common needs and questions Christians bring to God. Jesus healed everyone who came to him of every disease. So a good place to start looking for answers is right there, with Jesus. This non-fiction book explores the topic in depth. If you read the novel An Unfinished Death, you will learn the same material as presented in this non-fiction title. An Unfinished Death is a story of these scriptures in action.

FICTION

AN UNFINISHED DEATH

Connie August, a Christian combat medic, one who had experienced healings and miracles on the battlefield similar to those in scripture, wasn’t looking to make waves back home now that she was retired from the service. She opened Connie’s Pizza and settled into her chosen community, wanting to be herself, content to lead a small group of paramedics, doctors, nurses and chaplains who were studying the scriptures and sharing their experiences from across the Chicago area. Ryan Cooper, CEO of a religious-affiliated private hospital, had seen too many of Chicago’s children die from gun violence, young mothers die from cancer, and random illness take both the young and old. He wanted the vibrancy of God’s healing to be a predictable experience again. A friend introduced them at a party. He wanted to understand what she’d experienced. She wanted him to give a chaplain friend a job when he retired from the service. They struck a deal that would change both their lives and soon begin to reverberate across Chicago. This is Ryan’s story, Connie’s, but mostly it’s God’s story, a God who is still amazing in his goodness. Reader alert: this is not a romantic suspense, as most of my other fiction titles are. Ryan and Connie are already dating other people. This story also contains more scripture and conversations about scripture than most stories I have written.

IMMORTALITY

If you had a free summer, how would you fill it? Chemistry Professor Emily Worth is working with friends at Bishop Space Repair, Inc who are repairing satellites in space via repair robots. She’s finishing a design for a new type of battery. And she’s also doing some traveling to explore the Rocky Mountains. It’s going to be an enjoyable three months. A relatively new Christian, she wants to know God better than she does now and that, too, is part of her summer plans. What she hadn’t considered was a summer romance, but walks into one compliments of God who has been richly blessing her. This is the story of Emily Worth and Noah Shepherd. It’s also a story of God’s romance with us through Jesus for God has purposed in His heart to love us forever. Reader alert: This is a romance story, not a romantic suspense as most of my books are. This story also contains more scriptures and conversations about God than most stories I have written. Immortality can be read independent of my other titles. But for the full impact of the topics discussed, I encourage you to read the O’Malley series and specifically Jennifer’s storyline within it, then An Unfinished Death, then Immortality.

FULL DISCLOSURE

Ann Silver is a cop’s cop. As the Midwest Homicide Investigator, she is called in to help on the worst of the cases, looking for answers to murder. Hers is one of the most trusted investigative positions in the Midwest.

Paul Falcon is the FBI’s top murder cop. If the victim carried a federal badge or had a security clearance, odds are good he sees the case file or his guys work the murder.

Their lives intersect when Ann arrives to pass a case off her desk and onto his. A car wreck and a suspicious death offer a lead on a hired shooter he is tracking. Paul isn’t expecting to meet someone, the kind that goes on the personal side of the ledger, but Ann Silver has his attention.

The better he gets to know her, the more he realizes her job barely scratches the surface of who she is. She knows spies and soldiers and U.S. Marshals, and has written books about them. She is friends with the former Vice President. People with good reason to be cautious about who they let into their lives deeply trust her. Paul wonders just what secrets Ann is keeping, until she shows him the John Doe Killer case file, and he starts to realize just who this lady he is falling in love with really is . . .

UNSPOKEN

Charlotte Graham is at the center of the most famous kidnapping in Chicago history.

The task force of FBI and local cops found her two abductors, killed them, rescued her, but it took four very long years. The fact she was found less than three miles from her home, had been there the entire time, haunts them. She’s changed her identity, found a profession she loves, and rebuilt her life.

She’s never said a word—to the cops, to her doctors, to family—about those four years.

A family legacy has brought her back to Chicago where a reporter is writing a book about the kidnapping. The cops who worked the case are cooperating with him. Her options are limited: Hope the reporter doesn’t find the full truth, or break her silence about what happened. And her silence is what has protected her family for years.

Bryce Bishop doesn’t know her past, he only knows she has coins to sell from her grandfather’s estate—and that the FBI director for the Chicago office made the introduction. The more he gets to know Charlotte, the more interested he becomes, an interest encouraged by those closest to her.. But nothing else is working in his favor—she’s decided she is single for life, she struggles with her faith, and she’s willing to forego a huge inheritance to keep her privacy. She’s not giving him much of an opening to work with.

Charlotte wants to trust him. She needs to tell him what happened. Because a crime cops thought was solved, has only opened another chapter. . .

UNDETECTED

When asked what he does for a living Commander Mark Bishop is deliberately low-key: "I'm in the Navy." But commanding the ballistic missile submarine USS Nevada, keeping her crew trained and alert during ninety-day submerged patrols, and being prepared to launch weapons on valid presidential orders, carries a burden of command like few other jobs in the military. Mark Bishop is a man who accepts that responsibility, and handles it well. And at a time when tensions are escalating around the Pacific Rim, the Navy is glad to have him.

Mark wants someone to come home to after sea patrols. The woman he has in mind is young, with a lovely smile, and very smart. She's a civilian, yet she understands the U.S. Navy culture. And he has a strong sense that life with her would never be boring. But she may be too deep in her work to see the potential in a relationship with him.

Gina Gray would love to be married. She has always envisioned her life that way. A breakup she didn't see coming, though, has her focusing all her attention on what she does best--ocean science research. She's on the cusp of a major breakthrough, and she needs Mark Bishop's perspective and help. Because what she told the Navy she's figured out is only the beginning. If she's right, submarine warfare is about to enter a new and dangerous chapter....

TAKEN

Shannon disappeared over the Memorial Day Weekend when she was sixteen. She didn’t arrive home after staying with friends. Years have now passed. She just contacted a retired member of law enforcement, Matthew Dane. She wants to go home. TAKEN is the story of the next three weeks. I think Matthew and Shannon are fascinating together. It’s an unfolding story on so many levels.

MISSING (novella)

SINS OF THE PAST collection

This collection of short stories will let you sample 3 authors and see if you like how we write. The story I contributed is titled MISSING. John Graham, Police Chief for Cheyenne, Wyoming, is facing a personal crisis. His mother is missing. She was last seen Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. at the retirement village where she lived. It is now going on 9:00 p.m. Tuesday as he arrives in Chicago to help with the search to find her. Lieutenant Sharon Noble of the Riverside Police Department has worked missing person cases for seven years and she’s still an optimist that people can be found. I love how this story unfolds.

BETRAYED (novella)

The Cost of Betrayal Collection

This collection of short stories, The Cost of Betrayal, will let you sample 3 authors and see if you like how we write. The story I contributed is titled Betrayed. It’s an Ann and Paul Falcon story, I introduce you to Janelle Roberts, and a really good guy, Greg Tate. Here’s the back cover copy for my short story: She had been jailed for a murder she did not commit, later freed by the actions of people she had just met, leaving a murderer still at large. Janelle Roberts needed somewhere safe to rebuild her life…and maybe she’s found it with Greg Tate and the professional help he offered, the island home he arranged for her, and the peace he knew through Jesus.

TRACES OF GUILT

Lieutenant Evie Blackwell is using her vacation to look into two cold cases in Carin County. A deputy, his wife and eleven-year old son, disappeared. And in an unrelated case, a six-year-old girl was abducted from a hotel. Sheriff Gabriel Thane and his brothers Will and Joshua, have lived with these cases for years. I couldn’t write about just one Thane brother when all three have fascinating stories, so I decided to give you a family, centered around Evie and Gabriel, and let you enjoy what happens when Evie comes to Carin County.

THREADS OF SUSPICION

Welcome to a second Evie book. I’m rejoining Lieutenant Evie Blackwell as the Illinois missing person task force begins work. I want you to get to know all the members of the task force and what is happening in their personal lives, so in this book I’ll be introducing you to David Marshal. Evie has chosen to search for a missing college student, while David is looking for a missing private investigator. I hope you enjoy the search for justice as these two cases unfold.
